My Plans for 2012

Hello Friends,

It seems like the 2011 Legislative Session just ended, but it has already been a month!

I know you’re concerned about the future of Oregon and the future of the country; I’m also confident you’re committed to my re-election, and I need your continued support.

A strong grassroots organization, countless volunteer hours, and broad financial support made our last victory possible. It also made a number of important achievements possible ranging from reforming higher education in Oregon, to continued investment in the innovation economy.

I’m pleased to have been re-elected by my caucus as the Democratic Whip and honored to have been appointed to the budget writing Ways and Means Committee for the first time.

There is still much work that needs to be done and I’m gearing up for the 2012 legislative session and campaign.

As a member of the Redistricting Committee this year I played a role in the first successful redistricting process in decades, and saw firsthand how districts around the state change. Our district 27 is no exception, and I’m looking forward to meeting the new constituents I aim to represent after the 2012 elections.

Building an early and strong foundation for our 2012 re-election bid is essential, and given the current politically charged atmosphere, now is the time to start. We need your help as we look to continue the important work of restoring integrity and accountability, making our communities safer and cultivating economic growth for the long run.
